Navigating the ASSURIoT AppUpdated 2 months ago

Assets vs. Devices
An asset is the physical item you are protecting, whereas a device is an ASSURIoT tracker.
For example:
  • Your car is an asset
  • The tracker you hide in your car is a device

The ASSURIoT Device Manager app has a tab menu at the bottom of the screen. This is the primary navigation menu and will let you access everything you need within the ASSURIoT high-value asset management system. The 4 tabs are:

  • Assets (for managing your collection of high-value assets)
  • Devices (for managing your tracking devices)
  • Alerts (for reviewing any alerts that your devices generate)
  • Settings (for managing your account and some advanced features)

The assets view is used for creating, viewing, and managing your collection of high-value assets.

The Components of the Assets Tab Are:

  • Asset map: This shows the locations of all your assets. For an asset to show up on the map it needs to be paired with a device or have an address assigned to it.
    • Asset pins: Click on each icon to pull up its asset card. Your asset may temporarily appear up to a few miles away from where it's actually located. This represents our secondary network taking over due to a low-quality GNSS/GPS fix. We use a second, cellular tracking network to continue tracking your device even in cases of poor satellite coverage or RF interference. For more information see the Troubleshooting Location Accuracy guide.
  • Asset list: This shows a list of all your high-value assets.
    • Filter: This allows you to filter your assets by category.
    • Add asset: This allows you to add a new asset.
    • Assets: Click on an asset to pull up its asset card.
  • Asset cards: Selecting an asset allows you to see all of the information associated with it. Additionally, you'll be able to take actions to manage your asset.
    • Most recent ping: If your asset is paired to a device, you'll see its most recent ping including location (on the map), ambient temperature, which network was used (GNSS or cell), and the ping time.
    • Device battery: If your asset is paired to a device, you'll see its battery level.
    • Alerts: You'll see any recent alerts associated with your asset.
    • ASSURIoT monitoring device: If your asset is paired to a device, you'll have a quick way to access the device settings and ping history.
    • Alert settings: Allows you to set or manage geofence alerts, temperature alerts, and battery alerts.
    • Create recovery package: Allows you to provide a trusted party with device records.

The devices tab is used for managing your ASSURIoT tracking devices.

The Components of the Devices Tab Are:

  • Add device: This allows you to register a new device to your account.
  • Device list: Shows all of your devices along with their battery level, any paired assets, their last ping time, and location. Click on a device from the list to open its asset card.
  • Device card: This allows you to see device information, history, and make changes.
    • Edit: Allows you to un-pair the device from its asset (click the trash can), customize device settings, or delete the device.
    • Attach to asset: If your device has not been attached to an asset, this will allow you to attach it to a new or existing asset.
    • Ping history: See your device's ping history. Click "Next" or "Prev" to scroll through the timeline. Click "Date Range" to filter by date.

The alerts tab is used to sort, view, and acknowledge alerts. It can also be used to create recovery packages in the event of an incident.

The Components of the Alerts Tab Are:

  • Select items: Select one or multiple alerts so that you can mark them as read or unread, flag, or delete them in bulk.
  • Alert filters: Filter the alert list by asset, alert type, read/unread, flagged, or by date.
  • Alert list: Lists all your alerts including the name of the associated asset, alert type, and time of the alert. Click on an alert to open its alert card.
  • Alert card: Gives expanded information regarding the alert and allows some actions, including generating a recovery package.
    • Related pings: Use "Next" and "Prev" to scroll through all the pings related to the selected alert.
    • Create recovery package: If the alert is related to location data, you'll be able to generate a sharable recovery package.
    • Flag and delete alert: Allows you to flag or delete the alert.
    • Snooze alert: Click the snooze icon in the bottom-right to stop your device from generating related notifications for 10 minutes to 24 hours.

The settings tab is used for managing your account and accessing some advanced features.

The Components of the Settings Tab Are:

  • User profile: Allows you to edit your contact information and change your password.
  • ASSURIoT account: Lists your account information and allows you to manage your subscription or delete your account.
