Adding an AssetUpdated 2 months ago
Assets vs. Devices
An asset is the physical item you are protecting, whereas a device is an ASSURIoT tracker.
For example:
- Your car is an asset
- The tracker you hide in your car is a device
How To Add a New Asset
- In the ASSURIoT app, select the circular "Assets" icon
in the bottom-left of the screen. - In the center-right of your screen, select "Add Asset".
- Fill out any information about your asset that you wish to document. Asset Name is the only required field, but the more information you include, the better your asset is protected. You may always come back later and add more information to your asset record.
- Select "Done" in the top-right of your screen.
Documenting Your Asset
When adding an asset, you are able to add information and documentation. This serves 3 purposes:
- Some items are used to improve how the app displays and sorts your assets (photo, category, name, and description)
- Some items are for documenting your asset to aid in collection management and asset recovery (purchase information, asset address, vehicle information, notes, valuation documents, and images)
- Add ASSURIoT Tracker allows you to connect the device you'll be using to track this asset, if desired
